Samsung Will Bring Google Photos to Its Smart TVs
JAKARTA - Samsung Electronics announced its latest collaboration with Google. Through this partnership, Samsung will integrate the Google Photos application into its smart TV lineup.
Through this integration, Samsung wants to provide an easier way for users to enjoy precious memories on a larger screen. Users can access their photos with categories separated by people, places, and important moments.
"Bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes the experience more personal," said Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President Kevin Lee in a statement on Monday, December 29.
This integration will later be supported by Samsung's Vision AI Companion (VAC) technology to enrich the look of photos throughout the day. Selected photos will appear naturally through the Daily+ and Daily Board features as contextual greetings for users.
Google also welcomed this cooperation as a step to help people reconnect with their memories. This service is designed to remain simple as users only need to log in using their Google Account.
"We're excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs to help people enjoy their favorite photos on a bigger screen and reconnect with their memories in a new way," said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos.
This integration is expected to strengthen relationships between family members when they gather in front of the television screen. Users no longer need to transmit their phones to the television because their photos and videos can be accessed directly on the Samsung TV.
It's worth noting that the availability of this feature may differ, depending on the model and region. However, Samsung confirmed that Google Photos will be available on all Samsung TV models launched next year.
Users can access photos from the device with a connected Google account. For older TV models, Google Photos will be released according to the operating system (OS) update schedule.
