Minister of Transportation Reviews Gilimanuk Port in Bali, Warns of Extreme Weather Ahead of New Year

DENPASAR - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi conducted a review of security for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 transportation at Gilimanuk Port, in Jembrana Regency, Bali.

Minister Dudy was accompanied by the Bali Police Chief, Irjen Daniel Adityajaya, and the National Police Deputy Chief, Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, while conducting an inspection at the Gilimanuk Port, Bali.

Minister of Transportation Dudy said that in general there was an increase in tourist visits by 3 percent in Indonesia.

In addition, he also said that the weather did not affect the public's enthusiasm to carry out the nataru holiday.

"We are here to ensure that all stakeholders provide the best service for residents who celebrate Christmas and those who take advantage of the crossing service at the Bali Strait," said Minister of Transportation Dudy, Monday, December 29.

Minister of Transportation Dudy reminded all service officers and crossing service users to be vigilant, and ensure that all crossing vessels are in a seaworthy condition and constantly convey weather information to the public, to anticipate undesirable things, so that the public can enjoy the trip well.

The Minister of Transportation said that the number of tourist visits both by land and air routes in Indonesia had increased by three percent compared to the previous year.

"It seems that the weather does not affect the public's enthusiasm for vacation. However, we still remind you to always monitor the latest weather information before traveling," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Police Deputy Chief, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said that during the nataru operation phase, everything went smoothly and under control, thanks to the collaboration of all parties.

Regarding the new year celebration, his party guarantees that it will run safely and smoothly, both land traffic and crossing activities at the Ketapang-Gilimanuk Port.

"Of course, in addition to securing traffic flow at the New Year's moment, we are also ready to anticipate the return flow of the holiday. Whether it's on the toll road, port, and arterial roads or national routes to ensure that harkamtibmas (maintenance of public security and order) and kamsel (security and safety) run smoothly," he said.
