Waste Disposal Sembarangan During the Holidays in Ragunan Will Be Fined Rp500 Thousand
JAKARTA - Visitors to the Ragunan Wildlife Park who throw away garbage carelessly will be fined Rp500 thousand as an effort to maintain the cleanliness of tourist attractions in South Jakarta.
"If you throw garbage carelessly and are caught, we will impose a fine of Rp. 500 thousand," said Ragunan Wildlife Park Public Relations Officer, Wahyudi Bambang when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday, quoted by Antara.
This appeal is contained in Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 3 of 2013 concerning Waste Management. One of them is written to prohibit throwing garbage in public places.
The enforcement was carried out by sanitation officers and authorized authorities who will later deposit all fines into the regional treasury.
Then, his party also conveyed another appeal, namely parents are expected to keep their children from getting lost while traveling.
Visitors are also urged not to cross the cage limit for the sake of safety and security.
"Please be careful not to cross the fence. So don't try to cross the fence, later if you are caught we will enforce discipline," he said.
Then, in the weather is unpredictable, it is hoped that visitors have prepared to bring umbrellas and raincoats to anticipate rain.
"We urge visitors to anticipate rain by bringing umbrellas, raincoats or other equipment," he said.
A total of 50,211 tourists visited the Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR), South Jakarta, to take advantage of the holiday on Christmas Day 2025.
The Ragunan Wildlife Park management also predicts that the number of visitors will reach 80,000 people on New Year's Eve 2026.
The TMR manager has also prepared animal attractions in the form of animal feeding activities with the special atmosphere of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru).
This activity will be concentrated in several locations, namely the Schmutzer Primate Center, giraffe enclosure, Sumatran tiger, hippopotamus, pelican, Sumatran elephant and estuarine crocodile.
TMR will remain open during the Nataru holiday from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026. Visitors can come through the north and west entrance access.
Then, the management prepared 10 parking locations to anticipate a surge in vehicles during Nataru. The parking capacity is enough for 6,000 cars and 12,000 motorcycles.
TMR management also added operating hours during the Nataru holiday, namely from 06.00 to 16.30 WIB. The addition was made when the opening hours were usually from 07.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB.
