Profile of Dolfie Othniel Frederic Palit and his Political Career

YOGYAKARTA - The profile of Dolfie Othniel Frederic Palit is being highlighted by the public. The reason is that he is trusted to become the Chairman of the Central Java DPD PDIP for the period 2025-2030. Dolfie was elected to replace Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul who was replaced in August 2025. The appointment was made through a conference held by the Central Java Democratic Party Regional Leadership Council on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Semarang.

Dolfie Othniel Frederic Palit is a man born in Kijang, Riau Islands on October 27, 1968. Although he is known to be senior in the political arena of the country, his educational background is actually leaning towards Engineering. He is a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). In 1995 he managed to complete his education in the physics engineering department.

After completing his academic education, Dolfie worked at the Human Rights (HAM) Study Center as a database supervisor. However, he did not practice this profession for a long time. He then worked as a project engineer at PT Bukaka Kujang Prima, a company that focuses on construction, energy, and heavy equipment.

Dolfie also worked as a co-coordinator at the Indonesia Corruption Watch. However, after two years of practicing this profession, Dolfie then switched professions as an executive director at the Green Indonesia Earth Foundation.

Dolfie Othniel's political career began when he decided to join the PDIP cadre. Thanks to that, he managed to become a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2009 to 2014. Not only as a legislator, Dolfie also served as a Special Staff to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture in the first period of the Joko Widodo government, where the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture was entrusted to Puan Maharani.

After joining the government bureaucracy and becoming an independent commissioner at PT Telkom (Persero), Dolfie again ran for a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives. As a result, he managed to sit as a legislator from the PDIP faction for the 2024-2029 term. In his current term, he serves as Deputy Chairman of Commission XI dealing with financial affairs and as a member of the DPR Budget Agency (Banggar).

Dolfie's name was highlighted because the man born in the Riau Islands served as the Chairman of the Central Java PDIP DPD. The trust given to Dolfie is not surprising considering that so far he has been one of Megawati Soekarnoputri's trusted people.

Dolfie is also considered a politician who has loyalists in Central Java. This is proven because when he ran as a candidate for the 2024 DPR in the Central Java IV region, he managed to get 61,500 votes. This vote achievement managed to surpass the vote obtained by Bambang Pacul who previously got 49,199 votes.
