The competition at the top of the Italian League is still hot ahead of the end of the year. Napoli, who just won the Italian Supercup by defeating Bologna 2-0, is keeping the competition for the top position.
Only Napoli have not been able to move AC Milan's leadership of the table after defeating Cremonese. They are only close to Milan's points, who previously defeated Hellas Verona 3-0.
The victory over Cremonese makes Napoli have 34 points. One point behind Milan. However, Napoli can already move Inter Milan down to third place. However, Inter will return to the top if they beat Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Cremonese who lost points at home failed to improve their ranking. Audero et al. are still stuck in 12th place with 21 points.
In the match, Cremonese who is hunting for a real victory started well. The question is, they face Napoli, the defending champion, who is on fire. Moreover, the team coached by Antonio Conte just won the Italian Super Cup.
Audero managed to defend the goal from Hojlund's attack which was supported by David Neres and Eljif Elmas. Even Hojlund didn't take long to break Audero's goal.
In the 13th minute, Hojlund managed to score an easy goal because the goal was empty. It started with Leonardo Spinazzola's kick which turned direction so as to open space for Hojlund to finish the opportunity in front of his eyes.
The 1-0 score made the Napoli players more aggressive in pressing the Cremonese defense. However, Audero was able to overcome the pressure and secure the goal. Including when he faced one-on-one with Hojlund. However, he managed to thwart the efforts of the Manchester United loan player.
However, Audero's defense finally broke down. Hojlund successfully scored a brace towards the end of the first half.
The goal started from a cross from Matteo Politano which was received by Scott McTominay. The midfielder who was brought in from Man Utd then gave the ball to Hojlund to execute.
This became Hojlund's fourth goal this season. The goal created in the 45th minute changed the score to 2-0. The score remained until the first half ended.
Entering the second half, Napoli continued to play offensively. But this time their attacks always failed. Moreover, Audero still played well and made several saves. The score of two goals for I Partenopei also lasted until the end of the match.
