PLN Speeds Up Aceh Post-disaster Electricity Recovery, Supports Economic Activity Recovery
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has accelerated the restoration of the electricity system after the flood and landslide disaster in Aceh to support the recovery of economic activities and public services.
Through PLN's Distribution Parent Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya, the company completed 38 electricity recovery works in the affected areas in just 10 days, from December 13-23, 2025.
The restoration was carried out in the work area of PLN UP3 Lhokseumawe, including ULP Gandapura and ULP Bireuen.
This effort is focused on the most severely affected points as well as public service facilities and community activity centers, so that social and economic activities can return to normal as soon as possible.
In the recovery process, PLN repaired the Medium Voltage Network (JTM) along 1.45 kilometers, restored the Low Voltage Network (JTR) in 18 gates, operated seven distribution substations, and installed 16 electric poles.
This step aims to ensure the reliability of electricity supply which is the main support for the business sector, MSMEs, and basic services in the affected areas.
General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin, said that the acceleration of electricity restoration was an important factor in maintaining the wheels of the regional economy after the disaster.
"Electricity is a vital infrastructure for economic activities and public services. Therefore, the team works day and night while prioritizing work safety so that the electricity supply can be restored immediately and people's activities can resume," Andy said in a written statement, Sunday, December 28.
To accelerate the next phase of recovery and maintain the reliability of the system on an ongoing basis, PLN UID Jakarta Raya again sent 18 additional personnel as the Batch 3 Electricity Recovery Team to Aceh.
"This additional personnel is expected to accelerate the completion of follow-up work so that the electricity system can operate normally and support the sustainable recovery of the regional economy," he added.
