The additional three points make Persib now collecting 34 points from 15 matches, equal to Borneo FC's points. However, Maung Bandung has the right to be in the top position because they are superior in the direct meeting record.

Towards the end of the first half, Alfeandra Dewangga almost doubled the lead after passing two opponents, but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper. The score remained 1-0 until halftime.

Entering the second half, Persib continued to dominate. In the 53rd minute, Berguinho got a chance inside the penalty box, but his shot was still wide.

PSM Makassar started to fight in the 68th minute through a header from Alex Tanque, but the ball narrowly bounced over Teja Paku Alam's goal.
