Operation Lilin Nala 2025, Bengkulu Police Sidak Port
KOTA BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Regional Police (Polda) has ensured the readiness of transportation facilities and national vital objects with port inspections in the context of the implementation of the 2025 Lilin Nala Operation to secure the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations.
"The National Police is present to ensure that the homecoming and return flow of the community runs safely, orderly, and smoothly. We want people to feel comfortable and protected during their journey," said Deputy Chief of the Bengkulu Police, Brigjen Pol Dicky Sondani in Bengkulu City, Friday.
In the context of Operation Lilin Nala 2025, Dicky together with Dirpolairud Polda Bengkulu, Dirlantas Polda Bengkulu, General Manager Pelindo, representatives of Danlanal, Head of KSKP, Head of ASDP, as well as representatives of Pertamina management conducted a surprise inspection of a number of vital objects.
Inspections include the Putra Rafflesia Bus Pool, Pelindo Port Baai Island, ASDP Bengkulu Port, to the Pertamina Depot to ensure aspects of security, safety, and the smooth running of transportation services ahead of increased community mobility at the end of the year.
Dicky asked Pelindo to ensure that there was no fishing activity in the shipping channel because it could interfere with the safety of ships entering and leaving the port.
In addition, he also ensured the readiness of the crossing from the Baai Island Port to Enggano Island, ranging from the readiness of the ship's crew, the completeness of safety equipment, to supporting facilities for passengers.
Meanwhile, the Bengkulu Police also deployed security posts and service posts at a number of crowded points, one of which was the Panjang Beach tourist area.
"Police officers are asked to routinely patrol to monitor the situation on the beach area so that there are no criminal acts, such as theft and other kamtibmas disturbances," said Dicky.
He emphasized that officers in the field must provide maximum service to the community, including helping exhausted residents, providing medical assistance, and managing traffic flow if there is congestion, especially on New Year's Eve.
"We emphasize that officers should be on guard as much as possible so that the public feels safe and is not disturbed while celebrating Christmas and New Year, especially in the Panjang Beach area," he said.
Security was tightened because the Pasir Putih Beach, Panjang Beach, Berkas Beach, Malabero Beach, Tapak Paderi Beach, and Jakat Beach were the main destinations for tourists, including from outside the Bengkulu Province, during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
