Narasi Kunjungan Nataru ke Bali Kalah dari DIY Isu Lama

DENPASAR - The Bali Tourism Agency (Dispar) stated that the narrative of tourists visiting Bali during Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) is inferior to DI Yogyakarta is a long-standing annual issue that is often raised.

"It seems like an old issue that has resurfaced," said Head of the Bali Dispar I Wayan Sumarajaya in Denpasar, Saturday.

He explained that even though the tourists in Yogyakarta increased, Bali was not inferior because the roots of tourism in these two areas were different.

"Now the direction of Bali's tourism development is to build tourism based on culture, quality, and dignity, which means culture is the strength of our tourism," he said.

Bali's police did not have data on visits to other areas, but Sumarajaya confirmed that tourist visits to Bali were still high.

From January to mid-December this year, the total number of tourist visits was 16,094,280, consisting of 6,911,526 foreign tourists and 9,182,754 domestic tourists.

In December alone, the number of visits was 934,856 visits and it is believed that it will continue to increase during the Nataru period, so that the Head of the Bali Dispar believes that the tourism condition in Bali has improved.

"From the available data and compared to 2024, the number of foreign tourist visits is 6.3 million, while for 2025 this has reached 6.8 million as of December 23 yesterday," he said.

Even since December 19, 2025, Dispar Bali has recorded an increase in the number of daily visits from the usual 17 thousand to 22-23 thousand per day during this Nataru momentum.

Sumarajaya emphasized that what Bali wanted to highlight was not merely the number of visits but the improvement in the quality of services, the comfort of tourists, and ensuring that local people also felt the benefits of tourism.

"We will improve our services for the convenience of tourists and local communities as well," he said.
