Purwakarta Prosecutor's Office Denies OTT Issue Against Prosecutor

JAKARTA - The Purwakarta District Attorney's Office (Kejari) denied the issue related to the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) of a prosecutor that spread on a WhatsApp message on Tuesday (23/12) evening.

The message said that the OTT activity was carried out by the Attorney General's Office and also involved a prosecutor and a number of regional officials who were also caught.

"There is no OTT as the news circulating," said Head of the Purwakarta District Attorney (Kajari) Apsari Dewi through the Head of the Intelligence Section of the Purwakarta District Attorney's Office, Febrianto Ary Kustiawan, in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

Febrianto said that the Kejaksaan team visited the Purwakarta District Attorney's Office to follow up on complaints from the public.

"However, there is indeed a team from the Attorney General's Office who came to follow up on the complaint report," he said.

Regarding this, the Kejaksaan team also asked for clarification from a prosecutor at the Purwakarta District Attorney's Office.

The prosecutor was then asked to come to the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, to be questioned further.

Febrianto also reiterated that there was no OTT carried out by the Attorney General's Office against prosecutors in Purwakarta.

"Once again, I straighten it out like the news that has been circulating lately," he said.

Furthermore, Febrianto reminded the public not to immediately believe the news that was spread by certain parties considering that currently the Purwakarta District Attorney's Office under the leadership of Apsari Dewi is very focused on carrying out its duties.
