Bengkulu City Government Dispatches Dozens of Dishub Members to Border Areas

KOTA BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) has alerted 40 members of the Transportation Service in a number of border areas and tourist attractions to ensure security, traffic flow and tourist comfort during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Bengkulu City Dishub deployed 40 personnel who were alerted at security and service posts, and were included in the Bengkulu Polresta Nala Operation," said Acting Head of the Bengkulu City Transportation Office (Dishub) Medy Pebriansyah in Bengkulu, Saturday.

He said that members of the Bengkulu City Dishub would also carry out patrols regularly at a number of crowded points that could experience an increase in community activity.

"Our personnel are also stationed at several crowded points, such as tourist areas and locations that have been mapped with the potential for density, congestion, vulnerability, and traffic accidents," he said.

With the alert of the Transportation Service members, Medy hopes that traffic in Bengkulu City during the Christmas and New Year holidays can run smoothly, safely and orderly.

This is done so that the community and tourists from outside the city of Bengkulu can celebrate comfortably spending their vacation time in Bengkulu.

Meanwhile, the Bengkulu City Police (Polresta) on Christmas and New Year 2026 carried out the 2025 Candle Operation by deploying 120 personnel to ensure a safe situation and condition.

Head of the Bengkulu Police, Kombes Pol Sudarno, said that the 120 personnel carried out security at a number of locations that were crowded with visitors and tourists.

"Like previous years, Bengkulu city will be filled with tourists again, so we have prepared four security posts and 120 personnel to be on standby at the post," he said.

A total of 120 personnel are on standby at four posts, namely the Panjang Beach integrated post, the Jakat Beach security post, the Bengkulu - Taba Penanjung Toll Gate service post, and the Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu Airport service post.

On the other hand, Sudarno appealed to all people in Bengkulu City and Long Beach tourists to always be vigilant and not become victims of criminal acts and avoid unwanted things.

"We urge the public to always be alert and careful, especially in crowded tourist areas," he said.
