Ministry of PU Deploys 811 Personnel to Assist Emergency Handling in Aceh after the Flood English:
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has deployed 811 personnel to support emergency handling in Aceh Province, including vital facilities such as hospitals, until December 26.
Support is also strengthened by the mobilization of heavy equipment and supporting equipment, especially for activities to clean public areas and infrastructure. In Aceh, as many as 727 units of heavy equipment and supporting equipment have been deployed, including excavators, dump trucks, wheel loaders and mud cleaning equipment for the area.
One of the handling of the impact of disasters in Aceh Province, namely the cleaning and recovery of the environment of the Pidie Jaya Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
This step was taken to ensure that health services to the public continue to run safely and optimally after the late November 2025 flood and landslide.
The handling of Pidie Jaya Hospital is focused on cleaning the material of mud, sediment and garbage entering the hospital area, including access roads, yards and the environment of the service building.
The cleaning was carried out intensively with the involvement of personnel from the Ministry of PU and assisted by BUMN Karya working partners as well as the support of the TNI and local communities.
Apart from cleaning, the PU Ministry also provides special facilities and infrastructure to support the operations of Pidie Jaya Hospital, including clean water tanks, public hydrants, portable toilets, and hygiene and sanitation support equipment.
Not only that, the PU Ministry has also provided emergency response facilities and infrastructure, such as IPA Mobile, water tanker cars, portable toilets, towers and fecal vacuum cars, some of which have been and are being mobilized to Aceh to support the need for clean water and sanitation, including in the environment of health facilities.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that health facilities were one of the main priorities in post-disaster handling.
"Hospitals are one of the front lines of public services. The PU Ministry continues to ensure that Pidie Jaya Hospital is immediately clean, safe and can function normally so that health services to the community are not disrupted," said Dody in a written statement, Saturday, December 27.
According to Dody, the handling of Pidie Jaya Regional Hospital is part of the government's commitment to ensure that the recovery of vital infrastructure is fast, coordinated and sustainable.
"With cross-sector synergy, we are optimistic that post-disaster recovery, especially in health facilities and public services, can be completed immediately and return to normal functioning to serve the community," he added.
