South Sumatra Police Sends 100 Personnel to Assist Post-disaster Recovery in Aceh

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) has sent 100 personnel from the Brimob Unit in a humanitarian mission to help handle post-natural disaster in Aceh Province.

South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Andi Rian R. Djajadi said the assignment was a follow-up to the order of the National Police Chief through Telegram Letter Number STR/7991/XII/OPS.2./2025 to respond to flash floods, landslides, and strong winds in the Aceh Police jurisdiction.

Furthermore, all personnel were transported by land to their duty locations in the Gayo Lues Regency area, Aceh Province.

The police personnel aim to provide a sense of security while helping accelerate the recovery of the affected community.

To support this humanitarian task, personnel are equipped with operational vehicles, rantis, logistics equipment, clean water processing machines, and generators.

The South Sumatra Police Chief emphasized to all personnel to maintain professionalism, discipline, and the good name of the institution while carrying out their duties. Synergy with the TNI, local governments, and all related elements is the key to ensuring that the presence of the National Police is truly felt by the victims of disasters.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, explained that the delivery of this personnel was part of the commitment of the National Police in providing maximum service to the community in the midst of an emergency situation. The assignment requires high readiness, physical strength, and mental strength from each member involved.

A total of 100 Satbrimob personnel from the South Sumatra Regional Police who were dispatched will join a total of 900 Brimob personnel from various regions to strengthen post-disaster handling in Aceh. This assignment is a form of service and sincere concern of the National Police in helping people who are affected by disasters.

Apart from sending personnel, the South Sumatra Regional Police together with the South Sumatra Regional Bhayangkari have also been providing logistical assistance in stages since early December 2025. The assistance includes thousands of food packages, wearable clothes, medicines, and sanitation equipment that are distributed to a number of affected areas on the island of Sumatra, including Aceh Tamiang Regency and Langkat Regency.
