Won the lawsuit, the Tekipo brand was officially canceled by the PN Jakpus because it was similar to Tekiro
JAKARTA - The Niaga Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) has officially granted a cancellation lawsuit for the Tekipo trademark. The panel of judges stated that the trademark is essentially the same as the well-known automotive tool trademark, Tekiro, which has been registered first in Indonesia.
In the decision on case number 82/Pdt. Sus-HKI/Merek/2025/PN Niaga Jkt. Pst, the judge emphasized that the registration of the Tekipo trademark contained elements of bad faith because it deliberately imitated the trademark owned by the plaintiff.

The panel of judges considered that the use of the name Tekipo was very risky to confuse consumers due to visual and phonetic similarities with Tekiro on the same type of goods.
"Granting the plaintiff's lawsuit in its entirety. Announcing the cancellation of the registration of the Tekipo brands in the General List of Brands of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) with all its legal consequences," read the verdict, as quoted from the official website of the PN Jakpus, Thursday (25/12/2025).
In addition to canceling the registration, the judge also ordered DJKI as Defendant II to immediately:
Cross out the registration of the Tekipo trademark from the General Trademark Register. Announce the cancellation in the Official Trademark News. The defendant was also sentenced to pay a case fee of IDR 4,064,000.PT Altama Surya Anugerah's Response: Legal Certainty Victory

Appeal to Distributors and Consumers
The company's management appeals to all business partners, distributors, and loyal consumers to always ensure the authenticity of the product and refer to legally valid Tekiro products.
