Meet the Minister of Social Affairs, the Secretary of the Cabinet Discusses the Minimum Rp8 Million BLT for Sumatran Refugees per KK

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf discussed the distribution of direct cash assistance (BLT) for refugees in three disaster-affected provinces in Sumatra, namely in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The BLT given to the refugees is a minimum of IDR 8 million per family head, and the assistance is in addition to the rice assistance of 10 kilograms per month, and money for food of IDR 300,000 to IDR 450,000 per month.

"For our brothers in Sumatra, every family affected/displaced will receive a minimum of Rp. 8 million with details for filling the house of Rp. 3 million and economic recovery of Rp. 5 million. This fund is in addition to 10 kilograms of rice per month, Rp. 300,000 to Rp. 450,000 per month for cooking, temporary and permanent housing construction, and housing waiting money of Rp. 600,000," said Seskab Teddy, quoted by Antara.

Gus Ipul is the nickname of the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.

Then, the Seskab Teddy continued that the government also distributed compensation for heirs whose family members died due to flash floods and landslides in three provinces in Sumatra, namely Rp. 15 million. Meanwhile, for residents who suffered serious injuries, compensation was given in the amount of Rp. 5 million.

"All of the compensation funds will be distributed directly by the Ministry of Social Affairs based on data and approval from each regent/mayor of the local area," said the Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy.

Not only BLT for refugees in Sumatra, Seskab Teddy and Gus Ipul also discussed the distribution of assistance for other communities.

"Regular BLT every month is Rp200,000, additional BLT for 3 months with a total of Rp900,000 per family head," said the Secretary of the Cabinet Teddy.

The number of recipients of direct cash assistance is 35 million families or 120 million people.

"Direct cash assistance must be received properly and quickly," said the Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy.
