Polda Metro Jaya Deploys Jibom and K9 Teams to Secure Vital Objects
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has deployed personnel from the Bomb Dispersal Team (Jibom) from Gegana and K9 tracking dogs to sterilize churches and a number of vital objects to ensure that the implementation of the 2025 Christmas service is safe and respectful.
"Sterilization is carried out thoroughly and continuously in 1,160 churches that carry out Christmas services, as well as at public transportation hubs such as train stations and bus terminals," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, Wednesday, December 25, 2025.
The security activities took place during the Lilin Jaya 2025 Operation. The Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Asep Edi Suheri, also went down to directly check the readiness of places of worship ahead of Christmas celebrations.
"The check includes the readiness of the church to accommodate the congregation according to capacity, including anticipating uncertain weather conditions. The worship committee is urged to prepare the implementation well," explained Budi.
Apart from securing places of worship, the Metro Jaya Police have deployed personnel at various strategic points.
"Like airports, stations, terminals, and tourist areas. A total of 5,044 joint personnel from the National Police, TNI, and local governments were deployed at 106 security posts, service posts, and integrated posts in the DKI Jakarta region," said Budi.
Polda Metro Jaya ensures that all ranks together with related stakeholders continue to be on standby to maintain a safe and conducive kamtibmas situation.
"So, people can celebrate Christmas 2025 and welcome the New Year 2026 with a sense of security and comfort," he said.
