Siloam Hospitals TB Simatupang Strengthens Investment in Diagnostic Services through TEG Technology

Siloam TB Simatupang Hospitals strengthens its position in the private healthcare industry by introducing Thromboelastography (TEG) diagnostic technology.

This step is part of the hospital's investment strategy in improving the quality of high-value-added services, especially in the cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and intensive care segments.

Currently, Siloam Hospitals TB Simatupang is listed as the only private hospital in Jakarta that provides TEG diagnostic services.

This technology enables real-time evaluation of blood clotting, thereby supporting more accurate and efficient medical decision-making.

Siloam Hospitals TB Simatupang Hospital Director, Dr. Dewi Wiguna, M.Sc, said that the presence of TEG is part of the company's commitment to providing health services based on clinical data and patient safety.

"This investment also strengthens Siloam TB Simatupang's position as a one-stop solution for heart services, ranging from prevention, advanced procedures, to post-action monitoring," he said.

In terms of operations, TEG technology is considered capable of increasing service efficiency because the results of the examination can be used to monitor the effectiveness of anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy, as well as reducing the risk of complications that have the potential to increase long-term treatment costs.

Siloam Hospitals TB Simatupang Clinic Pathology Specialist, dr. Petty Atmadja, Sp.PK, explained that TEG is able to evaluate the entire blood coagulation process comprehensively.

"This examination helps early detection of the risk of bleeding and blockage of blood vessels, which is crucial in cardiac, surgical, pregnancy, and intensive care services," he said.

In the field of cardiology, the presence of TEG is considered to provide significant added value. Specialist in Cardiology and Blood Vessels, dr. Isabella Lalenoh, SpJP, said that this technology helps doctors adjust blood thinners individually, including in patients with heart rings or artificial heart devices.

"With a more precise approach, medical risks can be suppressed and patient outcomes become more optimal," he said.

Meanwhile, from the perspective of obstetric services, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Andre Viscountie Saputra, SpOG, said that TEG helps distinguish normal blood clotting conditions in pregnancy from disorders due to preeclampsia.

This is considered important to increase the safety of mothers and babies, as well as reduce the potential costs due to complications.

In terms of business, TEG services also open the opportunity for Siloam TB Simatupang Hospital to become a diagnostic referral center, not only for internal patients but also non-Siloam hospitals in Jakarta.

This examination can be done without special preparation, with a 24-hour laboratory service.

"With multidisciplinary services in one facility, we hope that Siloam TB Simatupang can continue to contribute to improving the quality of public health while strengthening the competitiveness of the national private hospital industry," concluded Dr. Dewi.
