Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture to the National Police Chief Inspect Christmas Mass at the Jakarta Cathedral

JAKARTA - A number of high-ranking state officials reviewed and greeted Catholic parishioners who would carry out Christmas Eve Mass at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, as well as to ensure that the worship process runs with diligence.

The officials present ranged from the TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Djamari Chaniago.

Then, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, to the ranks of the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB). They arrived at around 16.30 WIB together.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno who led the greeting hopes that Christmas celebrations can provide peace of love and hope that Christmas will illuminate every family and the steps of the people.

"May the peace, love, and hope of Christmas be present in every family and illuminate our steps. Born in the midst of limitations, the light that shines in the darkness," said Pratikno as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 24.

He also invited the people to pray for their fellow countrymen who were in trouble, especially in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra due to floods and landslides.

"In various regions, especially in Sumatra, our brothers and sisters still have to fight against disasters, some celebrate Christmas away from home with limitations, some celebrate Christmas in refugee camps," said Pratikno.

"Strengthening our shared concern to be present and act to help our brothers and sisters. From this church, Indonesia stands together to help each other and work together. The peace of love and hope of Christmas is for all of us," said Pratikno.
