120 Fanatical Jews Stormed The Al-Aqsa Mosque, And Had Wandered Around Accompanied By Israeli Police

JAKARTA - Dozens of fanatical Jews accompanied by Israeli police, Thursday, May 27, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem. Their number reached 120 people.

Reporting from Yenisafak, they entered through the Haram al-Sharif from the Al-Maqaribe (Morocco) Gate in the southwest of the mosque. The Islamic Waqf said Jerusalem in a statement.

Protected by Israeli police, the group fled the holy site after wandering the grounds of the Haram al-Sharif.

On May 23, more than 250 fanatical Jews entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time in about three weeks. The raids by fanatical Jews in Haram al-Sharif increased tensions in the region.

Israeli police have not allowed Jews to enter Haram al-Sharif due to Palestinian resistance since May 4. As tensions rise over Israel's continued persecution of the Palestinians.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said the attack undermined efforts to strengthen a ceasefire reached by Israel and the Palestinian resistance group nearly a week ago.

An Egyptian-brokered ceasefire came into effect last Friday, ending 11 days of the worst fighting in years.

At least 254 Palestinians were killed, including 39 women and 66 children, and more than 1,900 others were injured in Israeli air strikes on Gaza, according to Palestinian health officials.
