Kate Hudson Admits to Rejecting Mary Jane Role in Spider-Man Film

JAKARTA - Actress Kate Hudson admitted that she turned down the offer to play the role of Mary Jane Watson in the 2002 Spider-Man film. The role was eventually given to actress Kirsten Dunst and opened her career to this day.

He revealed this when he was a guest on Andy Cohen's show, Watch What Happen Live. A fan asked if he almost played the character of Mary Jane.

"Yes, that's right," Kate Hudson replied.

"And now when I look at it... it's one of those moments where I think 'Maybe it would be fun to play in a Spider-Man movie,'" he explained.

The Spider-Man film is a trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. This film tells the story of Peter Parker, played by Tobey Maguire, who has the ability to become a spider. Mary Jane (Dunst) is Parker's neighbor and the person he likes.

The trilogy became a successful film, where the first film earned 825 million US dollars for global screenings.

"But on the one hand, I made The Four Feathers. I met Heath Ledger and became very good friends and I got experiences I've never had," said Kate Hudson.

"Part of me is like 'Life happens as it goes' and I'm grateful for that, but I look at it and feel 'Maybe it would be fun to be Mary Jane'," she said.

The Four Feathers was released the same year as Spider-Man. The film stars the late Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley, Djimon Hounsou, and Kate Hudson.
