Prabowo Witnesses the Transfer of Rp6.62 Trillion in Fines for Forest Cases to Corruption

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the handover of money from the collection of administrative fines for forestry and state financial rescue from the results of corruption cases handled by the Prosecutor's Office of Rp. 6.62 trillion.

President Prabowo arrived at the Bundar Kejaksaan Agung building, Jakarta and immediately headed for a pile of Rp100 thousand bills that filled the lobby of the building.

Prabowo appeared to be talking to Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, accompanied by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, while observing the pile of money that formed a 1.5-meter-high wall.

"It is an honor for me and my happiness to witness the handover of the results of the rescue of state finances and the collection of administrative fines of more than Rp6.62 trillion as a result of the hard work of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force that I formed on January 21, 2025," said Prabowo in his speech, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 24.

The submission of the money of Rp. 6.62 trillion consists of the results of the collection of administrative fines by the Forestry Administrative Task Force (PKH) of Rp. 2.34 trillion; and the results of saving state finances in handling corruption cases by the Indonesian Attorney General's Office of Rp. 4.28 trillion.

Based on the information collected, this handover is part of the results of the re-possession of phase V forest areas with a total area of around 896,969.143 hectares.

It is recorded that in a period of 10 months, the PKH Task Force has regained control of 4,081,560.58 hectares of plantation land or more than 400 percent of the target set with an indication value of land that has been regained control of more than Rp. 150 trillion.

The PKH Task Force has handed over 2,482,220.343 hectares of forest land to the relevant ministries, which were handed over for management to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, covering an area of 1,708,033.583 hectares.

Then, the land was also handed over to the relevant Ministry to be restored to an area of 688,427 hectares which is the land of the conservation forest area and was handed over to the relevant ministry which is the land of the Tesso Nilo National Park area.

During the handover of the money, a number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet were also present, namely the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, the Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, the Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BPKM and CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni, the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of BPKP Yusuf Ateh.
