Ahead of Nataru, Prabowo Instructs LPG and Fuel Supply to be Safe in Sumatra
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with a number of ministers at his private residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Tuesday, December 23.
During the meeting, Prabowo discussed various strategic agendas, especially related to disaster recovery efforts in the Sumatra region ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Citing the Cabinet Secretariat's statement via its official Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet, Wednesday, December 24, Prabowo emphasized the importance of maintaining the availability and smooth distribution of LPG and fuel in the three provinces affected by the disaster in Sumatra.
"The availability and distribution of LPG and fuel supplies in the three affected provinces in Sumatra. As well as the readiness of national energy supply during the Christmas and New Year period throughout Indonesia," wrote the account, quoted Wednesday, December 24.
In discussing post-disaster recovery, Prabowo also instructed SOEs together with the Ministry of Public Works to accelerate the completion of temporary housing construction, while continuing to build permanent housing for affected communities.
Based on BNPB data conveyed by the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) through the official Instagram account @bakom.ri, a total of 44,045 temporary housing units have been built in three post-disaster provinces.
Meanwhile, Aceh became the region with the largest number, namely 36,328 units, followed by North Sumatra with 5,158 units and West Sumatra with 2,559 units.
In addition, Prabowo also received a report, regarding the development of the Haji Village which has received approval from the Government of Saudi Arabia.
"For the first time in history, the Indonesian Hajj will have its own place during the Hajj," he said.
