National Chamber Of Commerce And Industry In Bali Canceled, 'Battle' Between Anindya Bakrie And Arsjad Rasjid To Become Chairman Will Take Place In Kendari
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is threatened with canceling the VIII national deliberation (Munas) to elect a new chairman for the 2021-2026 period in Nusa Dua, Bali. Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Achmad Wijaya confirmed the news of the cancellation of the National Conference on the Island of the Gods.
"Still in discussion. It was postponed according to a letter (circular)," he said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, May 27.
Achmad said based on a circular addressed to associations or extraordinary member associations (ALB) dated May 27, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi) was given the mandate to host the VIII National Conference.
The National Congress event which was supposed to be the holding of the VIII Kadin Congress will take place from 2-4 June. However, the schedule was postponed until June 30.
Along with the postponement of the schedule, the letter numbered 405 / DPt / V / 2021 explained that the registration process for extraordinary members of the convention participants would also be extended until an undetermined time limit.
The extension of the ALB registration time departed from the association's complaint regarding the registration of the convention at the VIII National Assembly, so additional time was needed to verify the Kadin ALB list that had registered as a convention participant.
"So hereby the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has decided to postpone the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALB) convention, which was originally held on May 28, 2021, postponed until the time is set, ahead of the implementation of the VIII Congress on June 30," read a letter signed by the Chairman of the Advisory Council of Kadin Mohamad S. Hidayat.
As is known, currently, two candidates have registered as candidates for the Chairman of Kadin to replace Rosan P. Roeslani. Both are Anindya Bakrie and Arsjad Rasjid. Each candidate has held a safari and a campaign to the region.
In the election mechanism later, votes for candidates will be collected from regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and associations. Each regional Kadin has three votes. Thus, out of 34 provinces, the total votes for regional Kadin amounted to 102.
Meanwhile, 120 associations registered as Kadin partners will be granted 30 voting rights. After accumulating, the total number of regional Kadin voters and associations will be 132 votes.
