KTM RC 390 Stopped in Many Markets, New Version Still a Question Mark
KTM is rumored to have stopped production of its popular single-cylinder supersport motorcycle RC 390 due to several factors in various countries, but in India sales will continue.
The latest report from Ruslane, quoted, Wednesday, December 24, the KTM RC 390, seems to be going through a difficult time, especially in terms of sales.
KTM recently confirmed that the RC 390 failed to get enough demand in recent years. This led to the discontinuation of the RC 390 production in international markets such as the UK and Europe.
For the record, the RC 390 is the last model in the KTM 390 range that still uses the older 373cc engine, which is not Euro 5+ standard and the cost associated with updating the 373cc engine to comply with Euro 5+ standards will increase the selling price.
However, KTM is not afraid of directions and is working on a new RC 390 model powered by this 399cc LC4c engine, but its launch is still uncertain until now.
Currently, the new generation KTM RC 390 is in the testing phase and has been seen several times abroad. This motorcycle has a new fairing with a front that resembles the first generation RC 390.
The fairing now has a prominent window that shows the inside of the engine and cooling system. A distinctive feature of this motorcycle is the exhaust at the bottom of the body and the banana-shaped swing arm.
It is reported that the motor will use the same engine as other modern 390 models such as the 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, and 390 SMC. This engine is capable of producing a peak power of around 46 PS and a peak torque of 40 Nm, combined with a slipper clutch, two-way quick-shifter, and 6-speed transmission.
This motorcycle will be equipped with various advanced features and electronics and the price is appropriate. Unfortunately, the launch schedule is currently not known for sure.
