Progress in the Construction of the Lenangguar-Lunyuk Sumbawa Road Reaches 65 Percent
JAKARTA - The construction of the Lenangguar-Lunyuk provincial road along 50 kilometers in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), continues to be carried out, despite being hampered by rain and landslides, with a progress of 65 percent.
"If the progress is at this position, the range is 65 percent. More or less like that condition in the field," said the Commitment Maker Official (PPK) Jalan Lenangguar-Lunyuk Miftahuddin Anshary as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 24.
He admitted that his party had difficulty doing road work with a contract value of Rp. 19 billion, because the weather around the project site was often uncertain and landslides.
"What we face is this continuous state of rain every day, which causes the implementation time to be delayed, which we should be able to do full time daily, it is sometimes delayed for only a few hours. We arrange overtime, but when the weather is difficult, because it starts to rain in the afternoon, it has started to happen," he explained.
In addition to rain, continued Miftah, landslides were also a hindrance in the field because the condition of the road construction terrain was in a row of hills, making it more difficult to work.
"The location we are dealing with has been completed both the drilling point and the excavation, but because of the high rainfall, it has collapsed again. Even the drilling point that we have dealt with has been closed many times. That is what we are facing in the current natural conditions," said Miftah.
Miftah could not cover up that the road work could not be completed this year due to the natural conditions.
Because, he admitted that the implementation of road work also only started in September 2025 during the rainy season.
"Normally, during this time, the projects we carry out in PUPR are usually in June, the contract is already in place, but this implementation is delayed because the revision is in June, after the revision we make planning and the tender process, finally the contract is in September and it has started to rain again, with only 100 days available, usually we have a minimum of 180 days," he explained.
According to Miftah, it is likely that the adendum work time will be extended due to the rain and landslide conditions.
"Because this is not from the contractor's negligence. If there is no activity from the new contractor, it is outside of force majeure. If the addendum is given the opportunity, it can be up to 50 days in the future. But, we will see first, they are also ready, the important thing is to note the reality of the rain, when it is periodic, every day, and the landslides continue to occur, it must also be supported by data from BMKG," he said.
When asked whether there was a late fee for the contractor of the PT Amar Jaya Pratama project, Miftah emphasized that it needed to be studied first based on existing provisions, considering the condition of the field of rain and landslides.
"Indeed, if we take into account the conditions there, maybe there is not enough budget, even if it is Rp30 to Rp50 billion, because we have many points. There are many landslide points there, because the existing road has been hit by landslides. Our important target is in accordance with the initial handling of landslides, and then the handling of asphalt at the landslide point. As long as the costs needed can still be met, we will repair it later, we will review it," he said.
