Safety Innovation, Luxeed V9 Will Carry an Airbag that Can Protect the Entire Head

JAKARTA - Luxeed, a joint venture brand between Huawei and Chery launched in 2023 as part of the HIMA alliance, will make a new splash next year with the V9 minivan.

Based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted, Wednesday, December 24, Luxeed V9 will be the first mass-produced car with an integrated helmet airbag in the seat. This new car will enter the domestic market in the spring of 2026, positioned as a flagship of technology.

According to blogger Hai Daxing, the car seat ECC will automatically be pulled to a safer position in the event of a collision. At the same time, the helmet airbag will inflate simultaneously with the side airbag.

The technology mentioned was first introduced by Yanfeng Automotive Interior Systems in 2023. The company supplies interior solutions for Volkswagen, GM, Toyota, BMW, Stellantis, BYD, GAC, Geely, and other car manufacturers. The chair developed by Yanfeng adopts wide angle adjustment, rotation, and long distance shift.

Yanfeng experts focused most of their attention on seat safety. As a result, this chair adopts a quick return system to an upright position before a collision.

The system receives signals from ADAS, and adapts first. This seat has an integrated seat belt and airbags that are already installed. The airbag inflates early when there is a collision, reducing the forward momentum of the passenger to compensate for the force on the lower back.

Later, it will be present using the E0X modular architecture developed by Chery. This platform is the basis for cars such as Exlantix ET, Exlantix ES, and Luxeed branded models.

Previously it was reported that the Luxeed V9 will adopt a drive system and headlights developed by Huawei. The car will also have a large passenger screen, a spacious refrigerator.

Luxeed V9 will adopt Huawei's 800V high-voltage system and Qiankun Advanced Driving System (ADS) solution. This model will be available in pure electric vehicle (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations.
