30 Kg of Opium from Rokan Hilir Arrested, Operator Allegedly Abroad
PEKANBARU - The Riau Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate traced the controller of 30 kilograms of methamphetamine suspected to have come from abroad to follow up on the arrest of a courier who was going to distribute the goods to Jambi Province.
Director of Narcotics Investigation of the Riau Police, Commissioner General of Police Putu Yudha Prawira, said that the methamphetamine was secured in front of the Bathin Solapan Toll Gate, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency.
The Opsnal Team of Subdit II of the Narcotics Division secured the goods from a car from Rokan Hilir Regency on Saturday, December 13.
"The suspect and all the evidence have been secured at the Riau Police Narcotics Office for further investigation and network development, including tracing the role of the controller who is suspected to be abroad," said Putu Yudha, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 24.
The suspect with the initials DS, continued Putu, when interrogated admitted that he would bring the narcotics from the Sei Nyamuk area, Rokan Hilir Regency, to be sent to Jambi.
The suspect admitted that he was ordered by someone with the initials G who was allegedly abroad.
Another confession, the suspect DS admitted that it was not the first time he had sent methamphetamine to Jambi. He had delivered narcotics to Jambi four times with a total of around 10 kg each trip.
"For each delivery, DS receives a payment of Rp. 50 million, while on the last delivery the wage increased to Rp. 60 million," said Putu.
In addition, DS also admitted that he was accompanied by his colleague with the initials RS, who is currently on the wanted list (DPO).
The plan was that the package of methamphetamine would be received by a man with the initials M who was also still being pursued by officers.
Putu emphasized that his party continues to be committed to strengthening the eradication of narcotics, especially the large cross-provincial and cross-country networks that are very dangerous for the future of the nation's generation.
