Police Investigate Bomb Terror Email 10 Schools in Depok
JAKARTA - Police are still investigating the perpetrators of the bomb terror targeting 10 schools in Depok City. The terror was known to have been sent via email to each school while the learning activities were on vacation.
Head of the Public Relations Section (Kasi) of the Depok Metro Police, AKP Made Budi, said that all schools that received bomb threats were on vacation, so there was no student activity at the location.
"Schools are on vacation. The threat was sent via email. The perpetrator sent an email to 10 schools in Depok," he said when contacted, Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
According to Made, the threatening email was sent using a personal email address with the identity of a female sender. However, the police have not been able to confirm whether the identity is actually owned by the perpetrator.
"For the identity of the sender, we can't confirm it. We also don't know whether the email was actually used by the person concerned or not. It's still in the process of being deepened," he said.
In the contents of the email, the perpetrator also included a house address that was suspected to be related to the sender of the threat. The police have also made a direct check to the location.
"The address mentioned in the email has been visited by us. The house is indeed at that address, but the person concerned was not found," explained Made.
He added that so far the police have not been able to determine whether the house is actually inhabited by a woman named Kamila who is mentioned in the threatening email.
"We can't confirm whether Kamila lives in the house or not. What is clear is that the address is there, but we haven't found the person," he concluded.
Previously, the bomb disposal team (Jibom) and Gegana Polri moved to a number of schools in Depok City to carry out a search after receiving information about a bomb threat targeting 10 schools, Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Head of the Public Relations Section of the Depok Metro Police, AKP Made Budi, confirmed the report of the bomb threat.
Following up on the report, officers immediately carried out a thorough search of every classroom, teacher's room, and a number of other areas in the school environment to ensure that there were no dangerous objects.
"Yes, there is a bomb threat to 10 schools," he said.
