KKP's Directorate General of Sea Spatial Planning Shares Achievements Throughout 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through the Directorate General of Sea Space Arrangement has conveyed a number of performance achievements that have been carried out throughout 2025.

The Director General of Marine Spatial Planning of the KKP, Kartika Listriana, assessed that all priority activities for marine spatial planning in 2025 were achieved and exceeded the average target.

"It shows the consistency of the implementation of policies on the arrangement of marine space and the strengthening of the role of the Directorate General of Marine Space Arrangement, especially in supporting the blue economy and certainty of the use of marine space," said Kartika in a press conference at his office, Tuesday, December 23.

Among other things, the KKP has integrated the marine spatial plan into the draft of the revision of the Government Regulation (PP) on the National Spatial Plan. "Which will soon be determined by the government," he said.

Then, the KKP has also completed the zoning plan for inter-regional areas which are determined through legislation.

"The zoning plan of the area which was determined through this Presidential Regulation has also been 100 percent completed," he said.

Kartika said that his party had also completed the technical material for the national strategic waters (KSN) which would be integrated into the KSN spatial plan.

"The technical material from certain national strategic areas that we have compiled is 100 percent complete," he said.

Then, said Kartika, his party also facilitated the local government in integrating the zoning plan for areas, coasts and small islands.

He said, initially this was regulated in its own regional regulations (Perda), but now it has been integrated into the Regional Spatial Planning Regulation of the Province.

"This is 100 percent and of course it will encourage coordination from central and regional policies," said Kartika.

According to him, his party has also completed the planning documents for sediment management.

Furthermore, Kartika said, his party had also managed the Conformity of Activities for the Utilization of Marine Space (KKPRL) exceeding the target set.

"This exceeds the target of around 128.83 percent, also improving legal certainty and the investment climate from the utilization of marine space," he explained.

Not stopping there, according to Kartika, his party has also exceeded the target in terms of controlling the use of marine space.

From the target of 60, he said, his party managed to realize 138 controls on the use of marine space or reached 230 percent.

"So, from this indicator we can see that all stakeholders, business entities, related parties have realized that the use of marine space must indeed be properly maintained and must be carried out effectively, efficiently and optimally, especially to continue to prioritize ecological factors or ecosystems," he added.
