We're Back! In The Case Of COVID-19, 985 Santri From Bogor Were Sent To Gontor

BOGOR - As many as 985 students from Bogor, West Java, returned to their knowledge base at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo, East Java.

The students were previously sent home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An important condition for returning to Gontor is pocketing the antigen rapid test results.

"Santri are dispatched in waves to Gontor. They are required to bring a letter of rapid antigen test and an introduction is not allowed to get off the vehicle," said Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Bogor Regency for Education, Saepudin Muhtar in Cibinong, Bogor. .

According to the alumnus of Pesantren Gontor, class of 2005, the first departure was carried out centrally in the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) area on Wednesday, May 26 yesterday.

He said the students had returned to the Islamic boarding school because the cases of COVID transmission had started to slope. Even face-to-face learning still applies health protocols.

Gus Udin - Saepudin Muhtar - advised the students to really make the best use of their study time in order to gain useful knowledge.

"Make the best of your study time because the knowledge and experience taught at Pesantren Gontor is unique, not necessarily found in other pesantren."

The students must remember the message that is often conveyed by one of the founders of Pondok Modern Gontor, KH. Imam Zarkasyi. The education process at Gontor is not intended to produce employees, but to create scientists who can work in various fields.

In addition, he invited the students, when they had finished their education at Gontor, to continue to higher levels of education and build together with Bogor Regency.
