Bogor Raya, Sampah Galuga Collaboration Will Be Processed into Electricity Energy
BOGOR - The Bogor City Government and the Bogor Regency Government have officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the management of the Galuga Final Waste Disposal Site (TPAS) as a strategic step towards processing waste into electricity through the Waste to Energy (WtE) scheme.
The PKS was signed by Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim and Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto at the Main Clinic of the Parung Hospital, Tuesday, December 23.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said that the signing of the PKS was the final point of a long administrative process that both local governments had taken to realize the construction of the Waste Power Plant (PLTSa) in the TPAS Galuga area.
"This is the end of a long process that we have gone through, starting from the signing of a memorandum of understanding, a cooperation agreement, environmental training, to fulfilling various requirements for Waste to Energy," said Dedie Rachim.
He explained, after the signing of the PKS, the next stage is the procurement process for goods and services which will be carried out by Danantara in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment.
"Thus, after this, the next step is the procurement of contractors by Danantara together with the Ministry of Environment. We just have to wait for the process to run," he said, accompanied by Bogor City Regional Secretary Denny Mulyadi.
Dedie added that the PLTSa in TPAS Galuga will not only process new waste, but also the old waste pile that has been piling up. All processing processes are integrated, including the treatment of waste water and the use of waste combustion to produce derivative products such as bricks.
"All garbage will be processed. The only things that cannot be entered are iron and soil. All non-B3 waste can be processed," he said.
Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto emphasized that the waste problem cannot be solved partially and requires cross-regional collaboration and support from the central government.
"Building Bogor cannot be done alone. After this PKS is signed, Bogor City and Bogor Regency will collaborate with the Ministry of Environment to solve the waste problem in TPAS Galuga through the PLTSa system," said Rudy.
According to Rudy, waste management based on electricity is expected to be able to overcome the problem of waste accumulation in the long term.
"With good management, in the next 10 to 15 years there will be no more waste piling up. Everything can be processed into energy. This is the importance of collaboration," he said.
Rudy also revealed that the procurement process for goods and services is currently underway at Danantara. The physical construction of the PLTSa is targeted to begin with the laying of the first stone in 2026.
"PLTSa Galuga is in the Bogor Raya batch 1 phase, involving Bogor City and Bogor Regency. Hopefully next year the construction phase will start," he concluded.
