12-Year-Old Boy Found Dead by Joint SAR Team in BKT Cakung River
JAKARTA - A teenager with the initials R (12) was found dead after drowning in the BKT Canal (East Canal Flood), Jalan Sawo Kecik, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
The victim was found by the joint SAR Team after a search was conducted since yesterday.
"The victim who drowned was found dead. The victim was found at around 16.00 WIB, with a radius of 300 meters from the LKP," said Humas Jakarta SAR Office, Ramli Prasetio to VOI.
Then the victim's body was evacuated by the joint SAR team using an orange-colored body bag and put into an ambulance.
"The victim was evacuated to the suka house," he said.
The victim was recorded as a resident of Jalan Mega Baja Pulogebang, RT 08, Cakung. The victim when he drowned had the characteristics of wearing a shirt, black shorts, short straight black hair.
The victim had previously been swimming in the BKT River with 5 friends on Monday afternoon. Then they rested on the banks of the BKT River.
The victim then swam again until he finally drowned and disappeared in the stream. The victim had asked his friend for help but was not saved.
The search for the victim was carried out by the SAR Team by dividing 2 teams. The first team conducted a search and search with the LCR Basarnas as far as 3 km from the location of the incident to the downstream.
Then the second team conducted a visual search from the ground as far as 5 km from the LKP. Officers deployed 2 rubber boats and complete water palsars to search for the whereabouts of the victim.
The victim was finally found within a radius of 300 meters from the LKP in a dead state.
