Marquez hopes the 2025 MotoGP title can inspire many people
JAKARTA - Marc Marquez hopes that the 2025 MotoGP world championship title, which he won after recovering from his downfall, can inspire many people, not only in the world of sports.
The title is the end of a difficult five-year period for Marquez due to a string of long injuries that forced him to go to the operating table. It all started with a serious arm injury at the Spanish MotoGP in 2020.
"This ninth title is the most coveted and most difficult to achieve. I paid a very high price to achieve it, especially physically and mentally," said the rider nicknamed Baby Alien as reported by Crash.
Marquez ended his title drought in MotoGP this season after winning 11 Grand Prix and 14 Sprint Races with the Ducati Factory bike. This is his seventh title in MotoGP or ninth in all Grand Prix classes.
This title is special because it was obtained after undergoing four major surgeries and ending his long relationship with Honda so that he could return to being competitive. He then briefly stopped at the Ducati Satellite team before going to the Manufacturer.
Marquez also hopes that the process of his return to MotoGP can be an inspiration for many people, not only in the world of sports, but also in everyday life.
"When you're at the top and you fall, you don't just fall to the ground. You fall even lower and it's all very dark there. Fortunately, I have a great support system that helped me get out of there," he said.
Marquez's journey back to the top of MotoGP begins in 2023 when his younger brother, Alex Marquez, convinced him to join the Gresini Ducati team for the 2024 season.
Marc Marquez won three Grand Prix that year and managed to get a seat on the Ducati Factory team for 2025. With the Factory team, he immediately dominated his debut season.
