No Longer a RAV4 Base, Suzuki Across is Now 'Twins' with Victoris

JAKARTA - Suzuki officially presents the new Acroos which debuted in Seychelles, an island nation in East Africa and the first with a left-hand drive format.

Interestingly, unlike the version in Europe where this car (Suzuki Across) is actually a modified Toyota RAV4, but basically it is the Suzuki Victoris which debuted in India in September 2025.

Based on a Carscoops report, Tuesday, December 23, Visually, Across is a reflection of the Victoris, except for the brand logo on the back door. The most striking difference lies in the cabin, where the steering position has been changed.

Suzuki has global ambitions for the Victoris that is manufactured in India, so the introduction of a left-hand drive version for export markets is not a surprise.

The Across has a length of 4,360 mm and a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, the same as the Victoris in India. This makes it much shorter than the RAV4-based Across, which has a length of 4,635 mm and a longer wheelbase of 2,690 mm.

It's no secret that both the Victoris and Across use Suzuki's Heartect platform, which is also used on the Grand Vitara. After all, the same platform is used across Suzuki's entire lineup of in-house developed products, including the similarly sized Vitara and S-Cross SUVs.

In Seychelles, Across is currently offered with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 102 hp and 137 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission, with the option of pairing the automatic transmission with a 4WD drive system.

A 'hybrid' logo seen on the official press photos hints at the presence of the same electrification configuration as that found in the Indian-spec Victoris.

Referring to India, the i version combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with one electric motor to produce a total power of 114 hp. This self-charging hybrid configuration is combined with Suzuki's AllGrip Select all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
