Police Ensure the Security of a Number of Churches in Jakut During Christmas is Conducive
JAKARTA - North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Erick Frendriz, ensured that security for a number of churches in the North Jakarta area during the 2025 Christmas celebration was safe and conducive.
"Some time ago we checked with a number of churches with Forkopimko to ensure security. Thank God, we can ensure that security has been implemented properly," Erick told VOI, Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Erick explained that security for Christmas celebrations, especially on Christmas Eve, was carried out through cross-agency coordination. The North Jakarta Metro Police involved local government elements, the TNI, and other related services.
"For Christmas night security, we are together with related institutions, ranging from the City Government, TNI, related ministries, to potential communities. We are together to guard on Christmas night and carry out Christmas worship on December 24 and 25," he said.
Previously, the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, directly reviewed the readiness of security at the Santo Andreas Kim Tae Gon Church, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Monday night, December 22, 2025. The review was carried out in order to welcome the celebration of the 2025 Christmas service and the 2026 New Year.
"Tonight the Police Chief together with the entourage reviewed this church to see the readiness for the implementation of Christmas services," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto.
Budi said that the presence of the Metro Jaya Police Chief was aimed at providing a sense of security and comfort for Christians who would carry out Christmas services. In addition, the review was also carried out to ensure the readiness of the church to accommodate the congregation.
For the security system, continued Budi, it was fully coordinated by the North Jakarta Metro Police together with the Kelapa Gading Police, to ensure that all worship services ran safely and smoothly.
