League 1 And 2 Permits Wait For The Chief Of Police To Return From Papua

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, said that the police permit for League 1 and 2 for the 2021-2022 season is waiting for the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to return from Papua.

"I assure the whole community that the permit for League 1 and 2 competitions will definitely be issued. We are waiting for the National Police Chief to return from Papua," said Zainudin.

This Monday, Assistant Chief of Police, Inspector General of Police, Imam Sugianto, said that the permit for the League 1 and 2 crowd would be issued no later than this Thursday.

However, on May 27, the National Police Chief paid a working visit to Papua with TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto.

According to Zainudin, the National Police has committed to issuing a crowd permit as stated by the National Police in a coordination meeting for League 1 and League 2 on Monday, May 24, led by Zainudin and attended by PSSI, PT Liga Indonesia Baru and the COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"God willing, the permit will be issued and it is only a matter of time," said Zainudin.

PSSI plans to hold Liga 1 for the 2021-2022 season from the beginning of July 2021, between the 3rd to the 7th, until March 2022.

While League 2 will roll out 14 days after the start of League 1 and is projected to end in December 2021.

The certainty that the league will continue is still waiting for the crowd's permission from the Police.
