This is what Yamaha says about the arrival of the Indian-made electric Aerox in Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Indian automotive market seems quite promising for Yamaha, because it continues to bring innovations including recently launching the Yamaha Aerox-e or electric version.

In fact, talking about Aerox is not unfamiliar to the ears of the Indonesian people. So, is Yamaha not interested in bringing the Aerox-e to the Indonesian market?

Answering the above, Manager of Public Relations, YRA & Community PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM), Rifki Maulana, said there were no plans to present it in Indonesia.

"The electric Aerox is indeed focused on India, because it can be seen from the design that the launch is different, yes, the same as us (previous generation) model," he said when met in the Jakarta area, some time ago.

Furthermore, he said, the Yamaha Aerox-e is indeed focused on production in India and for the Indian market only. Thus, there is no opportunity to be present in Indonesia.

"Production in India and for the Indian market," he added.

As previously reported, the Aerox-e relies on an electric motor with a peak power of 9.4 kW and a torque of 48 Nm. The power is supplied by two removable batteries with a capacity of 3 kWh each, with a total of 6 kWh.

With the battery, the first Maxi Sports electric scooter in India is capable of covering a maximum distance of up to 106 kilometers on a single full charge. This battery can be charged at home using an ergonomic handle that is designed to be easy to remove and carry.

In terms of appearance, the Aerox E maintains Yamaha's typical sporty design which was previously known through the Aerox 155. This scooter uses LED dual headlights, 3D-style rear lights, and a 5-inch color TFT instrument panel that can be connected to a smartphone via the Y-Connect application.

The Aerox-e is also equipped with three driving modes, namely Eco, Standard, and Power. In addition, it is equipped with a Boost feature for fast acceleration and a Reverse Mode to help when maneuvering in narrow areas.
