Hashim: Prabowo has no palm oil land in Sumatra

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party's Board of Trustees Hashim Djojohadikusumo said President Prabowo Subianto does not have oil palm land in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"Prabowo does not have a single hectare of oil palm land in the Indonesian earth," he said at the "Celebration of Christmas for the Churches of North Sumatra in DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten in 2025" at the Raja Glorious Church Building, Jakarta, Monday, 22 December, reported by ANTARA.

Hashim said that the actors who spread the slander that the President had palm oil land were corruptors who damaged the environment.

The corruptors, said Hashim, have 3.7 million hectares of illegal palm oil land spread across protected forests to national parks.

Hashim suspected that there were 200 companies that had illegal concessions in the area.

"Among other things, there are more than 200 companies whose owners are evil people and we suspect that these people are spreading this slander," he said.

Hashim assessed that the hoax was spread because the government was currently brave and firm in enforcing laws related to the sustainability of the environment and nature of Indonesia.

"They are very disadvantaged by the current government, if the current government enforces the law," he explained.

From the existing observations, Hashim explained that the hoax was produced by influencers who had been paid to lower the dignity of the President with the accusation of having oil palm land in areas affected by natural disasters.

"We have seen and indications that they are paying. Those who pay influencers or bots on social media so that now there is slander that Prabowo has oil palm land," he said.

In addition, he said the government would absorb public aspirations regarding forest area protection, one of which was by closing PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL) in North Sumatra.

"I am sure the government will really pay attention to what the aspirations of the people of North Sumatra are for the Toba Pulp Lestari factory, which I heard has been closed. It has been temporarily closed, hopefully it will be closed forever. So this is certainly what I will convey to the aspirations of the people of North Sumatra to the President," said Hashim.
