Judge Exempts Rizieq Shihab And 5 Former FPI Officials On Mass Organizations Indictment
JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court stated that Rizieq Shihab and former FPI officials were not proven to have committed violations related to the Community Organization (Ormas) Law on the fifth indictment. Rizieq et al released on these charges.

"The panel of judges, according to the witness, made it easier for Refly Harun to explain that an organization can carry out activities even though it does not have an SKT because mass organizations are a manifestation of the right of every citizen to gather together, transmitting opinions, this is protected by the constitution as long as the mass organization does not carry out activities contrary to the law, " he said.
The public prosecutor previously also charged Rizieq Shihab and five former leaders of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), namely, Haris Ubaidillah, Ahamd Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Idrus Al-Habsyi, Maman Suryadi of violating the Ormas Law.
Rizieq et al charged with Article 82A paragraph (1) jo. 59 paragraph (3) letters c and d of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2017 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2017 concerning Amendments to Law Number 17 of 2013 concerning Community Organizations into Law jo. Article 55 paragraph (1)-1 KUHP jo. Article 10 letter b of the Criminal Code jo. Article 35 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Rizieq Shihab and five other defendants were found guilty of violating the health protocol (prokes) in Petamburan. They were sentenced to 8 months in prison.
The verdict was much lower than the prosecutor charged. This is because previously Rizieq Shihab was demanded 2 years in prison. Meanwhile, for Haris Ubaidillah, Ahamd Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Idrus Al-Habsyi, Maman Suryadi were sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months.
