Samsung Galaxy S26 Launch Meets a Bright Spot: February Event and Sales Confirmed for March

JAKARTA - Rumors regarding the launch schedule of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series have finally begun to subside after the latest information emerged which further strengthens the certainty of the launch time.

Based on information from the well-known technology leaker, Ice Universe, and reinforced by a report from the South Korean news agency, Yonhap News Agency, Samsung is confirmed to introduce its latest flagship mobile phone lineup in an "Unpacked" event.

The event will be held in San Francisco in February 2026. With the confirmation of this schedule, speculation about an early launch in January has officially been broken. While global device sales are scheduled to follow starting in March 2026.

The product line to be introduced includes three main models, namely the standard Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung is rumored to have considered changing the naming by using the "Pro" or "Edge" embellishment, but in the end decided to return to the old naming scheme.

This decision was likely influenced by the less than satisfactory market performance of "super thin" themed devices such as the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air of competitors, as the majority of consumers today prioritize a capable battery life over an overly thin body design.

In terms of technical specifications, Samsung will once again implement a strategy of using different chipsets between models. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is reported to be powered exclusively by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor across all market regions without exception.

Meanwhile, for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus models, Samsung will implement a dual-chip strategy, where some market regions will get a variant with Snapdragon, while other regions will use Samsung's own chipset, the Exynos 2600.

Although there will be some minor refinements to the aesthetic details and dimensions of the device, the overall design of the Galaxy S26 series is expected to remain very similar to its predecessor.

With the schedule now clearer, Samsung fans and industry players are now waiting for official invitations to the event in San Francisco to see firsthand how far the AI feature improvements and hardware performance will be offered by the Korean technology giant.
