Ministry of Education Accelerates Post-disaster Education Recovery in Aceh
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) continues to accelerate the recovery of post-flood and landslide education services in the Aceh Province, especially in Subulussalam City and Aceh Singkil Regency, by accelerating the establishment of tents as emergency classrooms.
Special Staff for the Ministry of Education and Culture for Management and Institutional Affairs, Didik Suhardi, said that this effort was carried out through the distribution of emergency assistance and mapping the needs of educational units so that the learning process could continue in emergency conditions.
"In the emergency response phase, we ensure that children continue to receive educational services. If in-person learning is not possible, online learning or temporary classes through emergency tents will be prepared so that students can continue to learn and interact to reduce post-disaster trauma," said Didik as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 22.
Meanwhile, in the recovery phase, the Ministry of Education and Culture conducted detailed data collection on education units, educators, and learners who were affected as the basis for planning the rehabilitation of educational facilities.
"We are deploying all the potential resources available so that the education process can return to normal in a not too long time," he added.

"We are very happy, we get help, our school was previously submerged in mud up to 1.5 meters. We hope that in the future we will not only get help, but also relocation so that learning activities can take place more safely," he said.
