BNI Jangkau Aceh Assistance, Distributes School Uniforms to Trauma Healing Facilities
JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to support the recovery of regions and communities affected by disasters in Sumatra. Together with the Big Family of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) through the BUMN Peduli 'One Heart for Sumatra' program under the coordination of Danantara, BNI has provided emergency response assistance for residents affected by disasters in the Aceh region.
The distribution of this assistance is part of BNI's rapid response and concrete actions in supporting the emergency response phase as well as the initial recovery of affected communities, with a focus on meeting basic needs and support for vulnerable groups, especially children.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the assistance provided included temporary housing needs, educational supplies, basic logistics, and support facilities for psychological recovery or trauma healing for children.
"BNI is trying to provide assistance that is relevant to the needs on the ground, not only for the fulfillment of basic needs, but also to support the process of mental recovery of the community, especially children affected by disasters," Okki said in a written statement.
The assistance distributed by BNI in Aceh includes 30 tents, consisting of 3x4 tents with five units, 3x6 tents with five units, and 20 platoon tents with a size of 6x14.
In the field of education, BNI distributed 400 elementary school uniforms, 700 junior high school uniforms, and 100 high school uniforms. To support children's trauma healing activities, BNI also distributed 200 dolls, 200 children's story books, 100 sets of toys, and a 24-square-meter puzzle mattress.
In addition, BNI distributed other supporting assistance in the form of 1,000 blankets, hygiene equipment such as soap, brushes, cleaning liquids, and brooms, four water tanks, 10 rechargeable flashlights, and 10 boxes of masks.
Okki added that all assistance was distributed gradually by prioritizing the principle of accuracy of targets and coordination with local governments and related stakeholders so that the benefits can be felt directly by the affected community.
"As part of the BUMN ecosystem, BNI continues to synergize with the government and various parties to ensure that humanitarian assistance is distributed effectively and sustainably," he said.
Through the BNI Berbagi and BUMN Peduli programs, BNI emphasizes its commitment to continue to accompany disaster-affected communities, both in the emergency response phase and the subsequent recovery process. BNI will continue to monitor the development of conditions in the field and be ready to provide further support as needed by the community.
