Jerome Kurnia 'Up and Down' Playing the Role of "The Last Flight" Film

JAKARTA - Jerome Kurnia admitted that his character in the film The Last Flight was something different. The reason is, unlike usual, he plays the role of a pilot who likes to flirt with women.

The Last Flight tells the story of a pilot named Deva (Jerome Kurnia) who is known as a playboy and approaches many flight attendants even though he already has a wife. One of the flight attendants who is interested in him is Tiara (Nadya Arina).

"Maybe the output, the green/red (flag) is visible but Deva is green/red. He always sees him green because it is in line with his morals, so it's difficult, it's actually the same because it comes back to each character that I'm in. The result is when I see green or red, it's the audience's opinion," said Jerome Kurnia in a press conference in Central Jakarta on Monday, December 22.

Jerome explained that he has a manipulative character but steals the show. He learned from the pilot to learn the techniques and discussions with the director.

"We take it from people and films a little bit, but we take it from the script. Then we go back to how charismatic it is, it shouldn't be too late, too down, for fear that the output will be different and the director will be guarded," he explained.

Furthermore, Jerome explained that he felt Deva's character had ups and downs in terms of character to emotion. He also learned a lot of new things as a pilot.

"What makes it interesting, I like the story when it is played against a different story. If it's emotional, the challenge is more because Deva's character goes up and down. One of the things that is difficult for me, fortunately, is taken care of by Mr. Benni," said Jerome.

"It's not difficult in the sense of taste. Sometimes people, there are some people who say they have to feel it first before they can eat it, but I'm not like that," he said.

Meanwhile, the film The Last Flight will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting January 15, 2026.
