KKP Ready to Distribute 295,686 Tons of Subsidized Fertilizer Early 2026

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is ready to distribute 295,686 tons of subsidized fertilizer for the fisheries sector at the beginning of 2026.

The distribution of subsidized fertilizer was carried out to increase the productivity of fish farmers, especially those who still use simple technology.

Director General of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Tb Haeru Rahayu, said that the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in the fisheries sector was an important momentum after fish farmers had not been able to access subsidized fertilizer for almost four years.

"We want to ensure that farmers can get fertilizer according to the target at the beginning of the year so that the production cycle is not disrupted. This fertilizer determines the success of cultivation, especially in simple technology ponds that rely on natural feed in the form of plankton," said the man who was called Tebe in his official statement, Monday, December 22.

In a simple technology cultivation system, fertilizer is believed to play an important role in growing plankton as natural fish feed. Without fertilization, fish growth is not optimal and has the potential to reduce yields.

"We see directly in the field, if it is not nurtured, fish growth is not optimal. This is the reality that farmers face," he said.

When carrying out socialization and simulation of the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in the fisheries sector in Lamongan Regency, East Java, on Sunday, December 21, showed a relatively fast process, with transaction time only about three to four minutes.

Even so, Tebe admitted that there were a number of critical points that needed to be a common concern, such as the availability of internet networks at kiosks and the completeness of data on cultivators in the system.

"If the infrastructure is ready, but the cultivation has not been recorded, the support of the local government is the key so that the subsidized fertilizer program for the fisheries sector can run optimally. Therefore, we encourage local governments to immediately update the data of cultivators who are entitled to receive subsidized fertilizer," he said.

Later, the supervision and distribution of subsidized fertilizers will be carried out through the digital system of the Fertilizer Subsidy Provision and Distribution Plan (e-RPSP) which has been built by the Ministry of Agriculture and has been integrated with the iPubers application owned by PT Pupuk Indonesia Holding Company (PIHC), so that redemption at kiosks can be carried out transparently, accountable and targeted.

In terms of distribution readiness, Director of Supply Chain of Pupuk Indonesia Robby Setiabudi Madjid stated that the production and distribution of fertilizer for the fisheries sector had been prepared.

"In early 2026, subsidized fertilizer for the fisheries sector will be available at registered kiosks with urea, SP-36 and organic fertilizer types according to recommendations. We ensure readiness in terms of production, distribution and timeliness," he said.

According to Robby, the expansion of subsidized fertilizer to the fisheries sector is a manifestation of the state's presence in responding to the needs of fish farmers.

"Pupuk Indonesia is ready to fully support the distribution to run smoothly and be targeted, as it has been in the agricultural sector," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the Lamongan bandeng farmers named Iskandar said that fertilizer was a determining factor in the success of the cultivation business, especially in simple technology ponds that rely on plankton as a natural feed source.

"If it is not nurtured, the fish cannot grow. In the past few years, there have been failed fish farmers. With subsidized fertilizer, we hope that the cultivation of fish farms will always be sustainable," he said.
