Former Director of Rejang Lebong Hospital Divonis 2.2 Years in Prison in the Corruption Case of Procurement of Patient Food and Drink

Bengkulu - The Bengkulu Corruption Criminal Court (Tipikor) panel of judges has convicted three defendants of corruption in the procurement of food and non-patient meals at the Rejang Lebong Regency General Hospital (RSUD) for the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year.

The three are former Director of the Rejang Lebong Regency Hospital, Doctor Rheyco Victoria, commitment maker official (PPK) Dwi Prasetyo, and Director of CV Agapi Mitra Yudha Putrado.

"Based on the description of the facts in the trial, the three defendants based on the attached case were found guilty of committing corruption," said the Chairman of the Bengkulu Tipikor PN Court of Justice, Agus Hamzah, in Bengkulu City, Monday, quoted by Antara.

Hamzah said that based on the order of the verdict, the actions of the three defendants contained elements of state losses, and met the elements of corruption.

For this reason, the three defendants were sentenced under Article 3 Junto Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, Junto Article 55 of the Criminal Code.

Therefore, the defendant Rheyco Victoria as a budget user was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison with a fine of Rp. 50 million, a substitute fine of Rp. 150 million.

Meanwhile, defendant Dwi Prasetyo was sentenced to 1 year in prison plus a fine of Rp. 50 million, a substitute for 3 months in prison, and an additional criminal sentence of Rp. 300 million.

Furthermore, the defendant Yudha Putrado was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison, a fine of Rp. 50 million, and an additional penalty of Rp. 33 million.

"The three defendants were sentenced to imprisonment, each of which is attached to the verdict, in addition to the imprisonment of the defendants, they were also ordered to pay compensation to recover state losses," said Agus Hamza.

Previously, the Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office (Kejari) investigation team had named three suspects in the alleged corruption case of eating and drinking at the Rejang Lebong Regional Hospital in the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year, which caused a state loss of Rp800 million out of a total budget of Rp2.3 billion.
