Former Jambi Education and Culture Head VAP and Head of SMK Disdik Become New Suspects in DAK Corruption of Rp21.7 Billion
Jambi - The Jambi Police have named three new suspects in the case of corruption in the Special Allocation Fund for SMK which caused the state a loss of Rp. 21.7 billion in 2021. One of the new suspects is the former Head of the Education Office (Kadisdik) of Jambi Province, Varial Adhi Putra (VAP).
In addition to VAP, the other two suspects are the former Head of SMK of the Jambi Provincial Education Office, Bukri, and the broker (contact person), David.
"Based on the results of the case, the three people by the Jambi Police investigation team, were counted on Monday, December 22, 2025, the suspects were established in the DAK SMK corruption case for receiving flows and asking for commissions in the project," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Jambi Police Commissioner General Taufik Nurmandia in Jambi, Monday, quoted by Antara.
The Tipikor investigation team of the Criminal Investigation Unit has also examined witnesses who then collected other evidence, including expert testimony and finally named the three suspects.
Until now, the three new suspects have not been examined as suspects so that no arrests have been made. The police hope that the three suspects will be cooperative in the examination later.
Previously, investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jambi Police transferred four other suspects to the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office in the case of corruption in the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) SMK at the Jambi Provincial Education Office (Disdik) on Wednesday, November 12.
The second phase of the transfer for the four suspects was previously Rudi Wage (RW) as a broker, Endah Susanti (ES) as the Director of PT Tahta Djaga Internasional (TDI), Wawan Setiawan (WS) as the owner of PT Indotec Lestari Prima (ILP) and the Commitment Maker Officer (PPK) of the Jambi Provincial Education Office, Zainal Hazid (ZH).
In this case, the suspects are suspected of committing the crime of corruption in the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of SMK in the Jambi Provincial Education Office, which is estimated to have caused a loss of state funds of IDR 21.8 billion out of a total budget of IDR 121 billion in the 2021 fiscal year.
This case is the result of an investigation by the Tipikor team of the Jambi Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, which found irregularities in the procurement process for SMK practice tools in the service environment.
"For the actions of the suspects, the investigators have entrapped them with Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3, and Article 18 of Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption jo Article 55 of the Criminal Code," said Kombes Pol Taufik Nurmandia.
Then some time ago the Jambi Police's Corruption Crime Investigation Team (Tipikor) also seized evidence of cash amounting to Rp8.4 billion in the alleged corruption case of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) SMK at the Jambi Provincial Education Office 2021.
