HUT GEKIRA Jadi Momentum Penguatan Pesan Kebangsaan dan Persatuan Nasional

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Raya Christian Movement (GEKIRA), a wing organization of the Gerindra Party, celebrates its 17th anniversary by emphasizing the spirit of social solidarity. This year's celebration was marked by a concrete action of distributing humanitarian aid as well as reaffirming political commitment to fully support the national development agenda under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

The peak event which took place at the NT Tower, East Jakarta, was attended by important figures, including the Chairman of the GEKIRA Board of Trustees Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the Fary Djemi Francis Advisory Board, Chairman of the Expert Board of Lieutenant General TNI (Pur) Gleni Kairupan, General Chairman of the PP GEKIRA Nikson Silalahi, Secretary General Yeremias Ndoen, General Treasurer and Chairman of the 17th Anniversary Committee of GEKIRA Dimpos Tampubolon as well as the honorary guest Minister of Religion Prof. KH. Nazaruddin Umar, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) who attended after conducting an emergency working visit to the affected areas of the Sumatra disaster as well as Nurdin Tampubolon President Commissioner of NT Corp who is also Deputy Chairman of the GEKIRA Advisory Board.

The General Chair of PP GEKIRA Nikson Silalahi, emphasized the importance of the organization to continue to be a blessing channel for the wider community. He instructed all cadres not only to be active politically, but also to be responsive to social issues at the grassroots level.

"This 17th HUT is not just a ceremonial celebration, but a momentum for GEKIRA to strengthen the citizenship program. We are committed to fully monitoring the Asta Cita program of President Prabowo, ensuring that government policies are felt directly by the congregation and small communities to the farthest corners," said Nikson.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the GEKIRA General Association, Nikson Silalahi, conveyed five GEKIRA national messages as a form of support for the government of President Prabowo Subianto as well as a commitment to maintain unity, national integrity, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

First, GEKIRA as the wing of the Gerindra Party confirmed its commitment to continue to fight loyally with the Gerindra Party and President Prabowo Subianto. GEKIRA is ready to escort and succeed the government of President Prabowo Subianto who also serves as Chairman of the General and Chairman of the Gerindra Party Advisory Board and Chairman of the GEKIRA Advisory Board.

Second, the GEKIRA management and members invite all Indonesian people to unite to support the government of President Prabowo Subianto. Political differences in the last election contest must be abandoned, and now is the time for all elements of the nation to unite to realize the welfare of the Indonesian people.

Third, GEKIRA calls on all ministers, deputy ministers, and all levels of government, both at the central and regional levels, even though they come from different political backgrounds, to remain under one command and perpendicular under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto in successfully implementing the Asta Cita program.

Fourth, GEKIRA appreciates and supports the presence of President Prabowo Subianto who has directly descended into the community as well as various concrete steps that have been taken by the government in recovering the national condition, especially in helping people affected by disasters. GEKIRA also supports President Prabowo Subianto's firm stance against forest loggers and environmental destroyers who trigger disasters, so that they are given firm sanctions without discrimination.

Fifth, GEKIRA calls on the government and all Indonesian people not to discriminate or build barriers or castes between religious people. The state must be present and guarantee the freedom of every religious believer to practice their religion, including in establishing places of worship in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

Chairman of the GEKIRA Board of Trustees, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, gave a message that all cadres should maintain integrity and humility in serving. He reminded that GEKIRA is a sincere political fighter for the nation.

"I ask that GEKIRA cadres remain humble and militant. We have a great responsibility to support the sustainability of food sovereignty and poverty alleviation. Be an example of national unity in the midst of Indonesia's diversity," said Hashim.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf, who was present immediately after reviewing the flood handling in Sibolga, North Sumatra, appreciated GEKIRA's active role in assisting the government in the social sector. Gus Ipul explained that the government is currently accelerating the distribution of life assurance assistance for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"The government cannot work alone. We really appreciate GEKIRA's steps which have independently distributed thousands of food packages to affected congregations and residents. The synergy between community organizations and ministries is crucial in accelerating post-disaster recovery," said Gus Ipul.

As part of the series of HUT, GEKIRA has distributed thousands of aid packages to various HKBP churches, Protestants and a number of Catholic church parishes in Jabodetabek, coinciding with the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 celebration moments.
