Pertamina International Refinery Signs Petrochemical Product Sales and Purchase Agreement with Pertachem

JAKARTA - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) has signed an extension of the cooperation on the sale and purchase of petrochemical products between PT Pertamina Petrochemical Trading (Pertachem).

Director of Feedstock and Product Optimization KPI, Erwin Suryadi said, the extension of cooperation between KPI and Pertachem is a tangible manifestation of Pertamina's commitment to implementing the downstream agenda that is currently being encouraged by the government.

Erwin assessed that this cooperation is very strategic, because it not only strengthens business development in the Pertamina ecosystem, but also supports the economy in Indonesia.

"This cooperation is not only about business, but also part of a joint effort to strengthen the resilience of the national petrochemical industry and support the industrial downstream agenda," said Erwin, Monday, December 22.

He added that this cooperation also creates a multiplier effect. Petrochemical products sold by KPI to Pertachem will later be processed by the industry to become various products to meet various needs.

This processing process opens up greater opportunities and benefits, such as the availability of employment, increasing the competitiveness of national industries, and reducing dependence on imports.

The cooperation between KPI and Pertachem itself has been established for four years, since 2021.

Now the commitment of cooperation is marked by the signing of three important agreements in order to extend and expand strategic cooperation in the petrochemical sector.

This signing includes an extension of the agreement to sell aromatic products, olefins and polytam resins, as well as a new agreement for the sale of special chemical products.

Erwin explained that the petrochemical industry has great opportunities in Indonesia. One of them is because the industry also supports the upstream oil and gas sector.

With this strong foundation, Erwin hopes that the cooperation between KPI and Pertachem will become the driving force for the national petrochemical industry.

"Synergy and collaboration within the Pertamina ecosystem are key, because our goal is that our products can be absorbed by our business partners, so that the results can benefit the community," said Erwin.
