Commission I of the DPR reminds Komdigi: The delivery of 500 HP for disaster victims in Aceh must be targeted.

Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Oleh Soleh, welcomed the steps taken by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) together with Telkomsel in sending telecommunications devices or mobile phones (HP) to flood-affected areas in Aceh.

According to him, this assistance is very important to strengthen the telecommunications network in the affected areas, especially in post-disaster conditions.

"Strengthening the telecommunications network is very needed by people affected by floods. With the network back to normal, people will find it easier to communicate, access information, and coordinate, both for emergency needs and recovery," Oleh Soleh told reporters, Monday, December 22.

The assistance includes 500 units of mobile phones, 100 units of 10 kVA capacity generators, 500 units of batteries, and 50 units of rectifiers.

The assistance will be distributed to three districts in Aceh, namely Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues, and Bener Meriah.

However, he reminded that the distribution of 500 units of mobile phones should be targeted and managed properly.

"The distribution of mobile phones must be regulated transparently and coordinated, so that it is really accepted by those in need. Don't let the distribution cause a commotion in the community," he said.

Soleh also hopes that the synergy between the government, SOEs, and telecommunications operators will continue to be strengthened, especially in responding to emergency conditions due to natural disasters in various regions.

"Collaborations like this must continue to be maintained and improved, so that the state is really present when the community faces difficult situations," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) distributed 500 smartphones to flood and landslide victims in Aceh Province to help the telecommunications recovery process at the disaster site.

Komdigi and Telkomsel sent assistance in the form of 100 10 kVA generators, 500 mobile phones, 500 battery units, and 50 rectifiers using cargo planes. This assistance will be sent to three districts in Aceh, namely Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues, and Bener Meriah.

"It was said to provide 500 units of mobile phones. Is this ready? Telkomsel friends are certainly those who understand the technicalities in the field, but are indeed focused on coordinating the general kitchen for example or coordinating the provision of assistance or indeed the layers of society who really need a mobile phone for coordination," said Director General of Public Communication and Media, Ministry of Communication, Fifi Aleyda Yahya in a press conference, Monday, December 22.

Fifi said that the 500 HP assistance could be allocated to victims whose previous telecommunications devices were damaged so that there were replacements for communication.

"The point is that the situation on the ground is really dynamic, so maybe it's not a very strict criterion," said Fifi.
