Jordan foils drug smuggling using drones at the border

Yordania menggagalkan upaya penyelundupan narkoba menasuki negaranya melalui drone di sepanjang wilayah selatan dan dekat perbatasan barat.

The failure was carried out by Jordanian border forces in the southern military zone yesterday. They are overseeing the Aqaba, Ma'an, Tafilah, and Al-Karak areas.

In the action, they detected the drone carrying drugs, intercepted and shot down the drone in Jordanian territory.

The Petra news agency quoted AN on Monday, December 22, explaining that the confiscated narcotics were handed over to the competent authorities for legal action.

Jordan is known as a transit point for drug smuggling, which is usually intended for Gulf countries from Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.

Smugglers are increasingly using drones and balloons, which are controlled by simple devices, to transport narcotics into Jordan from neighboring countries.
